Meet Mystery the Desert Tortoise

Mystery is going to be adopted by us on 9/26/09 she is a Female Desert Tortoise that someone had illegally because she was not registered or chipped by game and fish. We found her in our front yard a couple of days ago we contacted game and fish to see what to do with her, they talked to us about her and told us that she was someones pet and either got lost or left to fend for herself, they see it all the time, they told us how to take care of her which is really easy, she will be examined next week to make sure she is fat enough to hibernate this winter and then they will chip her and give her to us. YEAH! we are so excited.

We don't know exactly how old she is, they say she could be 20 to 80 years old, but they live for at least 100 years. Mystery name was chosen by the kids because she is a mystery of were she came from and how, and also sponge bob had a pet sea horse named mystery :)

Alana and Ian love to pick her up and she does not mind it too much.

Ian's New Look

Well here is Ian's new look. We just picked his new glasses up today June 5, just one day after his exam. We new that he might have had problems with his eyes but no doctor that we could find would take him so little and finally we found one that Daniel went to and he said he would try but it depends on how Ian (3yrs) acts, so on June 4, 2009 he had an eye exam and he did well but his eyes were worse then Daniels but the doctor only gave him a prescription for half because he wiggled to much on some of the test and of course does not now the alphabet so he went off what he saw from test and what the machines said, and because of that he only prescribed half the prescription lenses so not to over prescribe. He is far sighted and has stigmatism. He would walk into everything that was right in front of him but he see's past that, glasses will help him now so that's good.

This is the end result of Daniel ready for work just before he gets on his bike & of course Ian is right there every day, Ian as you can see does everything like Daddy. As seen above Ian is wearing a fishing vest well Daddy wears a vest too, Daddy has a hat, well then Ian will too.

Earlier that day Daniel said he needed his hair cut for work and when I went to do it Ian wanted one too but not just a trim, he wanted it "like Daddy" he said so o.k

If your wondering why Alana had two teachers its b/c last year AZ passed a law that said Hispanic kids had to be separated from other kids because they spoke Spanish (that's crap). I don't think people understood or even new what a horrible thing they passed to schools who have a high number of mixed kids like Arrowhead and many others schools in the area. I am still very upset about it as you can see :( I am happy my daughter goes there and we have many friends because of it.

Mini Vacation To Laughlin NV & Oatman AZ on Route 66

So we were not planning on going until the day before we left, and Daniel had just returned from working the Laughlin run. We had talked about taking the kids on Route 66 for awhile but never went until Sunday. We left Monday after Alana got out of school and since Tuesday was half a day we just pulled them out, why not. So here is our mini vacation stuff.

The kids want into the pool that was supose to be heated, well let me tell you it was not, but the kids still went in for about half an hour, wow I got out the second I got in, and Daniel never went in at all.

Our Hotel is the Green One in the backgroundWe stayed at the Tropicana Hotel/Casino but the kid friendly side well actually its a casino there are no kid friendly stuff, oh well we just stayed 1 night and then took the kids to the best part of the vacation Routte 66

We picked this hotel because it was somewhat kid fun, but the train only runs on the weekends, oh well sorry Ian he as bummed

Leaving Laughlin we went through Route 66 and oh the many things you did not know about it that we did and here they are:

Well you can hang out with the donkeys because they love people.

Or you can go horse back ridding like the kids did

Its a petting zoo with all the donkeys around us because they all want to be pet and fed.

Thats it the city of Oatman, not very big at all, but one of the coolest places in AZ and everyone is wonderful even the bikers that come through.

We left as a family of 4 and leaving 3 behind, any one got sand?

Ok yes I'm wearing flip flops, so what my other shoes hurt walking around town and everywere else so I put the next best thing.

And we thought the best part was the wild donkeys around us nugging us to feed them the carrots and the horse rides the kids took.
